Possibly the stamp of Robert Hopkins (1754-1834), the second son of John Hopkins of Ardington and Prince's Manor in Harwell, and his wife Anna. In 1798, he purchased Tidmarsh Manor, in Berkshire and became High Sheriff of the Manor in 1814. In 1799, Robert married Sarah Law, and had a son Robert, who died only four years after his father, and a daughter named Sarah. The manor then passed to Robert's brother, John Hopkins (1802-1877) who became an Esquire of Tidmarsh, Justice of the Peace, and High Sheriff. In 1828, he married Jane, daughter of Reverend John Symonds Breedon of Bere Court, and had five children with her.
