Pelham, Thomas, 2nd Earl of Chichester (1756 -1826)

Thomas Pelham was born 28 April 1756, the eldest son of Thomas, 1st Earl Pelham, and Anne, daughter and heir of Frederick Maynard Frankland. He was Member of Parliament for Sussex for many years, Secretary to Lords Northington and Camden when Viceroys of Ireland, and Secretary of State for the Home Department in 1801, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in 1803, and Postmaster General 1807-1826. He married 16 July1801 Lady Henrietta Juliana Osbourne, daughter of Francis, 5th Duke of Leeds. He died 4 July 1826, and was succeeded by his eldest surviving son, Henry Thomas Pelham 3rd Earl.
