Phelipps, Edward (1725 -1797)

Possibly the stamp of Edward Phelips, born 1725, the first son of Edward Phelips, M.P.for Somerset, by his second wife, Elizabeth, daughter of his uncle, also Sir Edward Phelips M.P. He was educated at Westminster School, and entered Christ Church Oxford in 1741 aged 16. In 1747 he married Maria, daughter of William Wright. They had 7 children.
Edward was the fifth Phelips to represent Somerset in Parliament. He died in 1797.
