Scott-Plummer, Charles (1821 -1880)

Charles Scott Plummer was the eldest son of Charles Balfour Scott, and Eliza, daughter of the Rev. Alexander Ker. His father was the second son of Charles Scott of Woll, and Elizabeth, daughter of William Waugh, by Barbara, daughter of Gavin Plummer. He was educated at Edinburgh Academy and Oriel College, Oxford, He succeeded his cousin, Charles Andrew Scott, in the estate of Woll in 1858, but resigned it to his uncle John when he inherited the estates of Middlestead and Sunderland Hall, Selkirkshire, from his Plummer ancestors, and at the same time took the name and arms of Plummer. He was Deputy Lieutenant of Selkirkshire, and married, 21 January 1857, Sophia, daughter of Joseph Goff Esq. of Hale Park in Hampshire.
