Temple-Blackwood, Harriot Georgiana Hamilton, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava (1843 -1936)

Harriot Georgina Rowan Hamilton was the daughter of Archibald Rowan Hamilton, of Killyleagh Castle, County Down, and Harriot, daughter of Sir William Abdy, Baronet. She married, 23 October 1862, Frederick Temple Blackwood, 5th Baron Dufferin. He was Under Secretary of State for India 1864 1866; Under Secretary of State for War 1866; Governor General of Canada 1872 1878; and Viceroy of India 1884 1888. He was created Baron Clandeboye in the Peerage of the United Kingdom 22 January 1850, Earl of Dufferin 13 November 1871, and Marquess of Dufferin and Ava 17 November 1888. She was a Lady of the Royal Order of Victoria and Albert, a Lady of the Imperial Order of the Crown of India, a Dame of the Order of the British Empire, and a Grand Cross of the Turkish Order of the Shefkat, and of the Persian Order of the Lion and Sun. The library of the Marquess of Dufferin and Ava was sold at Christie's 19 June 1968.
