Trenchard, Mary (1670 -1740)

Possibly the monogram of Mary Trenchard (1670-1740) of Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, England, wife of Thomas Turbeville; or Mary Trenchard of Wolverton, (1694-1742), daughter of Col. Thomas Trenchard and Elizabeth Henning; married her cousin George Trenchard in 1711. A Mary Trenchard was one of the authors, along with John Harris, Thomas Wood, and Benjamin Cowse, of Astronomical dialogues between a gentleman and a lady (London, 1719). There is a book in the Thomas Fisher Library at the University of Toronto, by William Salmon, entitled The family dictionary or, Houshold companion (London, 1710), which has the autograph of Mary Trenchard on the titlepage, but no stamp.
