Veitch N/A
The crest and motto are those of the family of Veitch of Dawick in Scotland. The motto is on a garter. It is possibly the stamp of the Reverend Mr Henry George John Veitch of Eliock in Dumfriesshire (1833 1865), elder son of the Reverend William Douglas Veitch, of Eliock, and Eleanor Julia Anne Raitt. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford, where he matriculated 16 June 1852, aged eighteen, and took his B.A. in 1856. He married Sibella Matilda, daughter of Donald Cameron of Lochiel and Achnacarry. He was Vicar of Kilmersdon in Somerset. Alternatively, it could be the stamp of his son George Douglas Veitch (b. 1874).
