The arms, crest and motto are those of Walrond of Sea in Somerset, descended from the family of Walrond of Bradfield in Devon. The crest was granted by Charles I to Colonel Humphrey Walrond (ca. 1600-ca. 1670) for his services during the Civil War. He became acting Governor of Barbados from 1649.
