Windsor, Thomas, 6th Baron Windsor (1591 -1642)
Thomas Windsor was the only son of Henry Windsor, 5th Baron Windsor, and Anne, daughter and coheir of Thomas Rivet. He was admitted to the Middle Temple 14 August 1600. He succeeded his father in 1605, and had a licence to travel abroad 7 March 1608. He married, before 14 January 1608, Katherine Somerset, the seventh and youngest daughter of Edward, 4th Earl of Worcester. He was one of the noblemen created a Knight of the Bath in 1610 at the creation of Henry Prince of Wales. He was made a Rear Admiral in the Navy by James I, and commanded the fleet sent to Spain to bring back Prince Charles. He died without issue in 1642, when the title fell into abeyance. The abeyance was terminated in favour of his nephew Thomas Windsor Hickman, son of his elder sister, Elizabeth. The 7th Lord was created 1st Earl of Plymouth in 1682.
